Named Endowment and Scholarship Funds
Saint Vincent Seminary has a number of scholarship funds which offer assistance to students in need of financial help. This assistance is awarded by the Scholarship Committee according to the restriction of each fund.
The Altoona-Johnstown Seminarian Scholarship Fund
Provides assistance for priesthood students from the Altoona-Johnstown Diocese. If there are no Altoona-Johnstown seminarians, the Seminary will award the scholarship to other deserving students.
Victor and Christina Ballash Memorial Scholarship Fund
Provides assistance to full-time students.
The Victor E. and Joan B. Ballash Scholarship Fund
Provides assistance to full-time students.
Monsignor Andrew J. Balok Endowment Fund
Provides assistance to full-time students.
The Benedict Endowment Fund
Provides financial assistance for lay persons pursuing graduate studies.
Benedictine Pastors Fund
Provides assistance for Benedictine students from Saint Vincent Archabbey.
The Matthew A. Benko, O.S.B., Seminary Scholarship Fund
Provides assistance for priesthood students.
Frank J. and Joan Hoover Bonanno Scholarship Fund
Provides assistance to full-time students.

Disbursed at the direction of the Rector.

Bishop Nicholas C. Dattilo Memorial Scholarship Fund
Assists seminarians who have financial need and provides help with the formation and education of seminarians from dioceses with limited resources.
Marianne F. Dean Scholarship
Provides assistance for Benedictine monks studying at Saint Vincent Seminary.
Jane and Michael Demshock Memorial Fund
Provides assistance for priesthood students.
Diocese of Pittsburgh Scholarship Fund
Provides assistance for priesthood students from the Diocese of Pittsburgh.
The DiPadova Family Trust
Provides assistance for candidates from Saint John Baptist de la Salle Parish, Delmont, Pa.; Saint Mary Parish, Export, Pa.; or the Diocese of Greensburg.
Archbishop Thomas A. Donnellan Scholarship Fund
Provides assistance for seminarians from the Archdiocese of Atlanta. If there are no Atlantan seminarians, then the funds may be awarded to other seminarians with financial need.
The George and Eileen Dorman Fund
Provides assistance with a preference given to international seminarians with financial need who are sponsored by Saint Vincent Archabbey.
Rev. Demetrius R. Dumm, O.S.B. Endowment in Biblical Studies
Provides assistance for priesthood students through scholarships, faculty enrichment in Biblical studies, as well as the Sacred Scripture collection at the library.
The Mario J. Ferretti Memorial Scholarship
Provides assistance for priesthood students.
Ann S. Foster Memorial Scholarship Fund
Provides assistance to students with a commitment to social service.
William Randolph Hearst Scholarship Fund
Provides assistance for students pursuing a degree program who will reside in the United States after completing their studies.
Gilbert J. and Dorothy Hoehn Scholarship Fund
This scholarship is awarded to a student beginning First Theology. Based on need, this scholarship is awarded for a four-year period.
Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary Scholarship Fund
Provides assistance to a seminarian with a special devotion to our Blessed Lady.
Marie Kaul Scholarship Fund
Provides assistance for priesthood students.
The B. P. Kenna Scholarship Fund
Provides assistance for priesthood students. Students from St. John Parish in Uniontown have priority in its distribution.
Andrew and Amelia Kirsch Scholarship Fund
Provides assistance to full-time students, with a preference given to seminarians from Cambria County.
Stephen P. Kosmo Scholarship Fund
Provides assistance for priesthood students.
Theresa C. Kosmo and Pearl Szczygiel Scholarship Fund
Provides assistance for priesthood students.
Reverend Thomas J. Kram Scholarship Fund
No restrictions.
Monsignor Paul A. Lenz Burse for Native Americans
Provides assistance for the education of Native American men to study for the Priesthood.
Rev. Francis M. Lynch Trust Fund
Scholarships provide assistance to priesthood students, based on need.
Thomas J. and Margaret McKeon Munsch Scholarship Fund
Provides assistance with a preference given to Benedictine seminarians and international or other seminarians financially supported by Saint Vincent Archabbey.
Albert Murrman Memorial Fund for Hispanic Ministries
Provides assistance for the purchase of books, periodicals, tapes, or other resources in support of the Hispanic Ministries program at Saint Vincent Seminary.
The Murrman Family Fund for Intercultural Ministries
Provides assistance for the purchase of books, periodicals, tapes, or other resources in support of Intercultural Ministries at Saint Vincent Seminary.
Cardinal John O’Connor Scholarship Fund
Provides assistance with a preference given to seminarians of Native American heritage.
Rachel Pevarnik Scholarship Fund
Provides assistance for priesthood students.
Rev. Adrian C. H. Pleus Leadership Scholarship Fund
Provides assistance for students with need who demonstrate strong leadership qualities.
Pope John Paul II Scholarship Fund
Provides financial aid to students from economically distressed dioceses and countries.
James A. and Mary Louise Redding Scholarship Fund
Provides assistance to students studying for the priesthood.
Benedict and Edna Reuscher Scholarship Fund
Provides assistance for priesthood students, with fifty percent of the funds allocated to Benedictine seminary students and fifty percent to diocesan seminary students.
Monsignor Charles Owen Rice Endowment
Funds may be awarded as scholarship money to priesthood candidates.
The Kathleen Sacco Hann Scholarship
Provides assistance for priesthood students from the Pittsburgh Diocese.
The Honorable Bernard F. Scherer Fund
Provides assistance to students studying for the priesthood.
Reverend Gregory Schramm, O.S.B. and James and Margaret Tseng Loe
Friendship Memorial Scholarship Fund
Provides assistance with a preference given to Benedictine monks who will minister in China, including Taiwan.
Rev. Paulinus J. Selle, O.S.B. Endowment
Funds may be awarded to priesthood candidates.
Saint Mary Scholarship Fund (Erie, PA)
Provides assistance for monks of Saint Vincent Archabbey studying for the priesthood. If a member of Saint Mary’s Parish enters the Monastery, this fund will be applied to his education.
Saint Gregory Seminary Scholarship Fund (Virginia Beach, VA)
Provides assistance for students from Saint Vincent Archabbey or, the Diocese of Richmond, VA.
Norma A. Sirback Scholarship
Provides financial aid to students from economically distressed dioceses and countries.
Steckert Memorial Scholarship Fund
Provides assistance for priesthood students and is based on need.
The Sväte Písmo i Katolícka Viera Education Fund
Provides assistance for student scholarships and faculty development as well as the Sacred Sciences collection at the library. Funded by a grant from the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association.
Dr. George and Mrs. Clara Sweeney Scholarship Fund
Provides financial aid for priesthood candidates with financial need.
John V. Toner Fund
Provides assistance to a priesthood student from Holy Family Parish in Latrobe, PA. If there are no applicants from Holy Family Parish, the award may be given to another seminary student.
Grace and Anthony Trancone Scholarship Fund
Provides assistance for priesthood students from the Archdiocese of Washington. If there are no Washington seminarians, then seminarians from the Archdiocese of Atlanta are given preference. If there are no Atlantan students, then the funds may be given to any priesthood student.
Rev. Raymond A. Vollmer Scholarship
Provides assistance for priesthood students.
Monsignor Francis Wagner Fund
Provides assistance for priesthood students.
Wall Memorial Fund
Provides assistance for priesthood students from the Diocese of Pittsburgh. Preference must be given to applicants from the former St. Canice Parish, Pittsburgh, PA. (now part of St. John Vianney Parish) and St. Peter Parish, McKeesport, PA. (now part of St. Martin de Porres Parish), or St. Michael Parish, Elizabeth, PA. If no students apply from the above parishes, the award may be given to a worthy candidate studying for the priesthood.
