Education Fund Dinner With Father Larry Richards March 22

Saint Vincent Seminary will hold its annual Education Fund Dinner at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 27 at LeMont in Pittsburgh. Father Larry Richards, pastor of Saint Joseph Church and the Bread of Life Community in Erie, will be the keynote speaker. Proceeds benefit the education of priesthood candidates at the Seminary.

Father Richards, a 1987 graduate of the Saint Vincent Seminary, has served as the pastor of Saint Joseph Church and the Bread of Life Community in Erie since 2002. He was ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese of Erie in 1989 by Bishop Michael Murphy following completion of his studies at Saint Vincent Seminary, following college Seminary at Gannon University, Erie, where he earned a bachelor of science degree in mental health counseling in 1983. He will soon conclude his studies for a master of arts degree in liturgy from the University of Notre Dame, South Bend, Indiana.

Previously, he has served as the Catholic chaplain at Penn State University (Behrend) and as a teacher and director of campus ministry at the Cathedral Preparatory School for Boys. He also founded the Divine Mercy Encounter (DME ) Retreat Program for the Diocese of Erie.

In addition to his work in parishes and schools, Father Richards is the founder and president of The Reason for Our Hope Foundation, a non-profit organization that helps to spread the Good News by educating people about Jesus Christ. His books include <i>Be a Man! Becoming the Man God Created You to Be </>(2009) and <i>Surrender! The Life Changing Power of Doing God’s Will </i> (2011). Father Richards hosts three radio shows, including <i>The Reason For Our Hope </i> and <i>Open Line </i> on the Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN) Radio, and <i> Changed Forever with Father Larry Richards </i> on Relevant Radio. He can also be seen on EWTN’s televised programs, <i>Living Right with Dr. Ray </i>and <i>Crossing the Goal. </i> EWTN also broadcast a mini-series in 2014 based on his first book called <i> Be A Man.</i>
