Vicar, Board Member to Keynote Scholarship Dinner January 26

LATROBE, PENNSYLVANIA - Father Thomas J. Kram, Class of 1949, will be the keynote speaker at the Saint Vincent Seminary Scholarship Dinner scheduled for April 22 at Churchill Valley Country Club. Father Kram is the Vicar for Retired Priests in the Diocese of Pittsburgh and is a member of the Seminary Board of Regents.

The annual dinner raises money which provides scholarship aid for students who are preparing to be priests. According to Father Thomas P. Acklin, O.S.B., Rector, "Saint Vincent Seminary has been preparing priests for the Church for 152 years. We ask for your prayers and for your support to continue this tradition of educating and preparing our future priests for pastoral service."

Father Kram has served the People of God as a good and faithful priest for fifty years-serving the Church in Pittsburgh as a parish priest, high school headmaster and diocesan administrator in a variety of roles. At Saint Vincent, he has loyally served on alumni boards, Seminary Board of Regents, and three years as Seminary Dean of Advancement. In recognition of this good and faithful service, he was awarded an honorary Doctor of Divinity in 1993 by Saint Vincent Seminary.

The donation is $60 per person or $600 for a reserved table of ten people. For additional information and to make reservations for the dinner, call the Seminary Development Office at 724-537-4552.

Saint Vincent Seminary in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, has graduated and prepared more than 2,300 men for the priesthood since its founding by Boniface Wimmer, O.S.B., in 1846.
