Eleven Installed To Ministry Of Acolyte

Eleven Saint Vincent seminarians from six archdioceses and dioceses and two abbeys were installed in the Ministry of Acolyte on November 30 by Most Rev. George V. Murry, S.J., Bishop of Youngstown, in the Saint Vincent Archabbey Basilica. Two are from the Archdiocese of Atlanta, one each from the dioceses of Covington, Harrisburg, Nan Chong, Pittsburgh, Saginaw and Mary, Mother of the Church Abbey and three from Saint Vincent Archabbey.

"Covenant and Communion" Lecture Topic for Scott Hahn November 9

Dr. Scott Hahn, author, speaker and professor, will lecture on “Covenant and Communion” at 7:30 p.m. Monday, November 9, at the Robert S. Carey Performing Arts Center at Saint Vincent College. Dr. Hahn is The Pope Benedict XVI Chair in Biblical Theology and Homiletics for Excellence in Preaching at Saint Vincent Seminary. The lecture is free and open to the public. Three Admitted to Candidacy for Holy Orders

Three men studying for the priesthood at Saint Vincent Seminary were admitted to Candidacy for Holy Orders on October 26 by Most Rev. David R. Choby, D.D., Bishop of Nashville. The seminarians were from the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston, Saint Bede Abbey, Peru, Illinois, and Saint Bernard Abbey in Cullman, Alabama.

Covington Bishop Speaks to Seminary Grads

His Excellency Roger J. Foys, bishop of the Diocese of Covington, Ky., offered the commencement address to 17 graduates during Saint Vincent Seminary’s 163rd commencement exercises. Foys also received an honorary doctor of divinity degree as part of the ceremony.
