They are Abuchi F. Nwosu of the Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown; Salomon Garcia-Cortes and Dominic T. Tran of the Archdiocese of Atlanta; Matthew A. Cushing of the Diocese of Covington; Daniel J. Langa and Michael A. Zavage, Jr. of the Diocese of Pittsburgh; Brother Joseph M. Adams, O.S.B. and Brother Michael J. Gabler, O.S.B., of Saint Vincent Archabbey; Brother Francis Dankoski and Bradley W. Greer of the Diocese of Steubenville; and Brian J. Cline and Michael A. Marcelli of the Diocese of Youngstown.

Father Demetrius Dumm Authors New Book

Saint Vincent Seminary faculty member Father Demetrius R. Dumm, O.S.B., has authored a new book, So We Do Not Lose Heart: Biblical Wisdom for All Our Days. Released by Archabbey Publications, the book contains eighty-three short reflections on passage of Scripture, which address, from various perspectives, the perennial human problem of mortality.

The students are from the Archdiocese of Atlanta; the Archdiocese of Campinas, Brazil; the Diocese of Charleston, South Carolina; the Diocese of Covington, Kentucky; the Diocese of Erie; the Diocese of Harrisburg; the Diocese of Pittsburgh; the Diocese of Saint Thomas, Virgin Islands; the Diocese of Savannah, Georgia; Saint Benedict’s Abbey, Atchison, Kansas; and Saint Vincent Archabbey.

Bishop Schmitt Ordains Two to Diaconate

LATROBE, PENNSYLVANIA Most Rev. Bernard W. Schmitt, D.D., Bishop Emeritus of Wheeling-Charleston, West Virginia, ordained two men to the diaconate at Saint Vincent Seminary on April 22. One of the men, Brother Shawn Matthew Anderson, O.S.B., is a member of the Saint Vincent Archabbey community who is currently enrolled in the third year of theological studies at Saint Vincent Seminary, while the other, Stephen J. Pontzer, is a third-year seminarian from the Diocese of Savannah, Georgia.

The Saint Vincent Seminary invites the public to a book signing celebrating the release of "The Passion of the Lamb and The Unchanging Heart of the Priesthood" by Father Thomas Acklin on February 23rd 2006. The book signing will take place in the Westmoreland and Foundation Rooms of Placid Hall. At 6:30 p.m. the public will be able to meet the author and at 7:15 p.m. there will be a brief presentation by Fr. Tom. The book signing will then resume from 7:45-9:00 p.m.
