Thirteen Admitted to Candidacy

LATROBE, PENNSYLVANIA - Thirteen seminarians from Saint Vincent Seminary recently received the rite of candidacy in preparation for ordination to the diaconate at a Mass presided at by the Most Rev. Donald W. Trautman, Bishop of Erie. The candidates represented seven dioceses and archdioceses and two Benedictine abbeys.

Seminary Offers Summer Evening Classes

LATROBE, PENNSYLVANIA - Registration is underway now for two evening classes being offered during the spring semester at Saint Vincent Seminary. Sister Cecilia Murphy, R.S.M., Academic Dean, has announced that the following courses are being offered: Wisdom Literature and the Psalms, Tuesday evenings, taught by Father William Fay, Seminary Vice Rector, and the Letters of St. Therese, Thursday evenings, taught by Father Jacques DePaul Daley, O.S.B.

LATROBE, PENNSYLVANIA --Twenty-three candidates were recently installed in the Ministry of Acolyte at Saint Vincent Seminary. The Most Rev. Anthony G. Bosco, Bishop of Greensburg, presided over the installation, held at the Saint Vincent Archabbey Basilica, Latrobe. The installation was held Monday, November 9.

Acklin, O.S.B., Rector and Professor of Theology at Saint Vincent Seminary, will be the guest speaker at the Saint Vincent Seminary Scholarship Fund Dinner to be held Thursday, April 30, at the Churchill Valley Country Club, Pittsburgh. The Scholarship Fund dinner raises funds for scholarship aid to assist seminarians with their studies as they prepare for the priesthood.
