Fr. Valentine Kohlbeck, OSB, became pastor (1894-1897). Earlier, Fr. Kohlbeck had organized the Bohemian Benedictine Press in 1889 in the buildings north of the present rectory. The Press had tremendous influence during its 86 years of operation.
